(CNN) -- A lot happened over the weekend. Rescuers searched for people missing in yet another Oklahoma tornado. Anti-government protests spread in Turkey, and the MERS virus spread to Italy.

Severe weather
Searchers were resuming efforts Monday to find six people still missing from Friday, when yet another tornado raked Oklahoma City.
The storm claimed at least 13 lives, including three storm chasers, and came just two weeks after a powerful EF-5 tornado struck the Oklahoma City suburb off Moore, killing 24 people.
Tim Samaras, his son Paul Samaras and Carl Young were killed in Friday's storm while following a tornado in El Reno, Oklahoma. Their work tracking tornadoes was featured on the former Discovery Channel show "Storm Chasers."
Of the six people who remained missing, four had taken shelter in storm drains, authorities said.
A tornado spawned by the same storm also left a 10-mile trail of damage through Missouri, destroying homes but killing no one. However, three people died in Missouri and four in Arkansas due to flooding associated with the storm.
Turkey
Demonstrators and police clashed in Turkey through the weekend in growing anti-government protests.
Taksim Square became a battleground Friday and Saturday as riot police used water cannons, tear gas, pepper spray and armored personnel carriers to prevent protesters from entering the transit and commercial hub at the heart of the city.
Police withdrew Saturday afternoon after firing several last volleys of tear gas at crowds, sending thousands of screaming people fleeing for cover. While authorities hadn't returned to Taksim Square, authorities did clash with protesters Sunday in the Istanbul neighborhood of Besiktas. Protesters wearing face masks and goggles hurled rocks; police answered with tear gas. Some demonstrators were wounded.
While the situation was quieter Monday in Istanbul, police used tear gas against protesters in Ankara.
The protests began as a sit-in against a development project in central Istanbul, but quickly mushroomed into broader demonstrations against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
MERS
The sometimes deadly MERS-CoV virus has spread to Italy, the World Health Organization said in statements over the weekend.
Sunday's announcement that two female patients had contracted the virus followed one Saturday that said a 45-year-old man who had recently traveled to Jordan had become infected. They are the first three known cases in Italy.
Middle East respiratory symptom coronavirus, or MERS-CoV, acts like a cold virus and attacks the respiratory system, the U.S.-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has said. But symptoms, which include fever and a cough, are severe and can lead to pneumonia and kidney failure.
Yosemite Search
Park rangers were resuming their search Monday for a teenage swimmer who was swept over a nearly 600-foot waterfall in California's Yosemite National Park over the weekend.
Aleh Kalman had been swimming about 150 feet from the edge of Nevada Fall on Saturday afternoon when he was caught up in the swift current of the Merced River, the National Park Service reported. The 19-year-old Sacramento resident had gone to the park with a church group, the park service said.
"We believe it's impossible to survive a fall like that," park spokeswoman Kari Cobb said.
Swimming above the 594-foot Nevada Fall is not illegal, but the river is marked by signs warning of the danger, Cobb said.
Jean Stapleton
Actress Jean Stapleton, best known for her role as Archie Bunker's wife in the groundbreaking 1970s sitcom "All in the Family," died, her son said Saturday.
She was 90 years old.
She "passed away peacefully of natural causes" on Friday at her New York City home "surrounded by friends and her immediate family," according to an obituary provided by her family.
A veteran of Broadway and daytime television, her breakout role was as Edith Bunker, the conscience of "All in the Family" as the kindhearted foil to husband Archie, played by Carroll O'Connor, who died in 2001.
