(CNN) -- The Benazir Bhutto International Airport was cleared and resumed operations early Tuesday, after a red alert, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority posted on Twitter.


Earlier, all exits and entrances were sealed and flight operations were suspended.


It was not immediately clear what caused the disruption.


The airport serves Islamabad, the country's capital.
